On A Wing is a collection of songs about common themes through my life—a lasting love, loss and letting go, and the nostalgia of my Argentine roots. Rooted in folk, Americana, jazz, and global influences, the album explores moments of fragility and resilience, inviting listeners to find serenity in the spaces between earth and sky.

As a theme, my new album has songs about flying, air, and lightness. I have a recurring dream where I fly… and I wrote Night Is Closing In about that. This phase in my music career is about ‘spreading my wings’ as a solo artist, and there is a bird metaphor in several songs, Fledgling Wings, about our kids growing and moving, and Morning Bird, a Milonga about a heartbreak.
The air of the countryside, the Pampas, is what my mother named the instrumental on the album, Aires de La Pampa. It reminded her of the sounds of her grandfather playing guitar outdoors in the breeze.
I wrote Bittersweet Wind for The Acoustic Guitar Project. To celebrate my husband’s birthday I had written him the words as a poem - the idea that he and I had taken a big jump together in life, and seeing the edges of our horizon grow nearer as we get older.
Dandelions are my preschool students’ favorite flowers, and our lives blow in the wind so delicately sometimes. Carry Me materialized just as I was about to have major back surgery, and coincidentally a dear friend was undergoing a double lung transplant at that very moment… I wrote it thinking of both how delicate life is and heavy… the living gift refers to his new lungs, new wings to fly…
Waiting on Your Love, created from a simple love song prompt, is my story—love at first sight with my husband and best friend, Steve.
Zamba de Mis Padres is my nostalgia for the nature and memories I always carry from Argentina, and I dedicated it to my parents who came from there. “Zamba de Mis Padres” features Argentine pianist and arranger Nacho Abad, known for his work with Maggie Cullen, bringing a deeply rooted Argentine folk sensibility to the recording.
Words is a song by Gustavo De La Cruz, an Argentine artist living in Spain, describing conflict and disconnection, painful memories which haunt us through words that are hard to forget.
